Peddi Release Postponed: Ram Charan & Janhvi Kapoor’s Film Moves to April 30; New 'Rugged' Poster Out

Hyderabad: Fans of "Mega Power Star" Ram Charan will have to wait a little longer to witness his magic on the big screen. The makers of his highly anticipated rural sports drama, 'Peddi' (RC16), have officially announced that the film will no longer release in March.

Originally slated to hit theaters on March 27, 2026, to coincide with Ram Charan’s birthday week, the film has now been pushed to the peak of summer. The production house confirmed on Wednesday that Peddi will now release worldwide on April 30, 2026.

New Date, New Look: The 'Striking' Poster

To soften the blow of the delay, director Buchi Babu Sana and the team unveiled a brand-new, intense poster that has already set social media on fire.

• The Look: The poster features Ram Charan in a never-seen-before "rugged" avatar. He is seen sporting long, messy hair, a thick beard, and a nose ring. His face is bloodied and covered in dust, standing amidst a chaotic crowd, hinting at the raw and gritty nature of the character.

• The Tagline: The makers shared the poster on social media platform X with the caption: "The date of his arrival changes, but not his MIGHTY GRIT. #PEDDI WORLDWIDE RELEASE ON 30th APRIL, 2026."

Why was 'Peddi' Postponed?

According to industry insiders and reports, the decision to shift the release date was strategic.

1. Box Office Clashes: March 2026 is witnessing a heavy traffic jam at the box office. With massive films like Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 and Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh locking March dates, the makers of Peddi opted for a cleaner window to ensure a massive solo release.

2. Production Delays: Reports suggest that some final portions of the shoot and extensive post-production work, including VFX, are still pending. The team wants to ensure the highest quality for this pan-India project.

About the Film

Peddi marks the Telugu debut of Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, who plays the female lead. The film also features Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar in a pivotal role.

• Music: The music is composed by the legendary A.R. Rahman. The first single, "Chikiri Chikiri," has already become a viral chartbuster, crossing 200 million views online.
