CMIA Launches Marathwada Exporters Forum to Boost Trade

The Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) has taken a significant step to bolster the region’s economic growth by launching the Marathwada Exporters Forum (MEF). This new body is designed to provide comprehensive support and guidance to local businesses aiming to enter or expand in international markets. The initiative was unveiled during a recent event that brought together industry leaders, exporters, and government officials to discuss strategies for boosting global trade from the region.

The primary objective of the MEF is to act as a central resource for exporters, offering everything from technical knowledge and mentorship to networking opportunities. As CMIA president Anuj Jain highlighted, the forum will address the challenges that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) often face when navigating the complexities of international trade. By sharing best practices and creating a collaborative environment, the MEF aims to transform Marathwada into a major exporting hub.

A key focus of the forum will be to connect local manufacturers with global buyers, a critical step in building a robust export ecosystem. The forum plans to organize workshops on export documentation, customs procedures, and foreign market research. These sessions will be led by seasoned professionals and government representatives from agencies like the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). This direct access to expert knowledge is expected to significantly reduce the entry barriers for new exporters.

Furthermore, the MEF will help members leverage government schemes and incentives designed to promote exports. This includes information on export credit, subsidies, and other support systems that can make local products more competitive on the global stage. The forum will also advocate for policy changes that benefit exporters, working closely with government bodies to address infrastructure bottlenecks and regulatory hurdles.

The creation of the MEF is a timely move, given the government's push for "Make in India" and "Vocal for Local" initiatives. By fostering a strong export culture in Marathwada, CMIA is not only supporting local businesses but also contributing to the national goal of increasing exports and strengthening India's position in global trade.
